Apple Arcade Unveils Family-Friendly Hit: Bluey

If your household is buzzing with Bluey excitement, now’s the perfect time to dive into Apple Arcade. The subscription service has kicked off a month-long event that brings Bluey to several games, including Suika Game+ and Crossy Road Castle.

This event is a bit of a departure for Apple Arcade. Since its debut in 2019, the service has consistently rolled out new titles, but this crossover introduces free Bluey-themed updates to existing games for a limited time. The festivities start today and run until July 8.

Five games have received a Bluey-themed makeover: Crossy Road Castle, Suika Game+, Stitch, Puffies, and Disney Coloring World+. Some of these titles have seen significant enhancements, as I discovered during a hands-on preview. Crossy Road Castle, for instance, has transformed Bingo’s House into an obstacle course, allowing players to tackle challenges together with a variety of new characters from the show. Other updates are more subtle; Suika Game+ has mainly swapped out fruit faces and added Bluey-themed backgrounds.

If you’re looking for a standout recommendation, this crossover is a great reason to try out Stitch. This puzzle game, where you connect embroidery hoops, is one of the highlights of Apple Arcade thanks to its soothing atmosphere and engaging gameplay. It now features a set of new Bluey hoops as part of the event. Additionally, Lykke Studios is set to introduce Bluey content to Puffies, their charming sticker-pack jigsaw puzzle game, on June 10.

Currently, there’s a solid selection of titles available.

This event aligns with Apple Arcade’s growing emphasis on kid-friendly games. The service added Nick Jr. Replay to its lineup in April and will enhance its family game offerings with Talking Tom 2+ on June 4. This shift seems strategic, especially with summer approaching and kids out of school. Apple Arcade has also been appealing to older gamers with titles like Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea and a mobile version of Civilization 7.

The limited-time event wraps up on June 21 for Crossy Road Castle, Suika Game+, and Disney Coloring World+. Stitch’s event concludes on June 24, while Puffies will continue to feature Bluey content through July 8.
