Apple is developing a new standalone app for its revamped Siri.

Apple is gearing up to unveil its revamped Apple Intelligence AI platform at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8th. A report indicates that a new iteration of Siri will be introduced, transforming the voice assistant into a comprehensive AI agent with extensive integration across various applications. This updated Siri, set to debut at WWDC 2026, will enhance its ability to manage other apps and features on iOS and macOS, utilizing user data from emails, messages, and notes to fulfill requests more effectively.

The new Siri will also improve its news summarization capabilities, pulling information from Apple News and offering more detailed responses sourced from the web, including summaries, bullet points, and images. This enhancement aims to position Siri as a stronger competitor against other AI-driven search tools like Perplexity and Google Gemini.

Users will still be able to access Siri via voice commands or the iPhone’s power button, but Apple is also exploring a dedicated Siri app for its devices. This app will introduce conversational features in a chat-like format reminiscent of Apple Messages, providing a centralized space for users to review past interactions, initiate new chats, toggle between voice and text modes, and upload documents and photos for analysis.

Additionally, Apple is experimenting with new designs for Siri, such as positioning the assistant at the top of the iPhone’s screen within the Dynamic Island, prompting users with a “Search or Ask” option when activated. Once results are generated, the Siri interface will expand into a larger translucent panel, allowing for ongoing conversations or further inquiries. The company is also looking to enhance its Spotlight search by integrating Siri, granting access to a broader range of data, while built-in apps will feature an “Ask Siri” toggle in menus, simplifying the process for users to request more information about highlighted text or retrieve related emails.
