Apple unveils visionOS 27 featuring Siri AI integration.
During its keynote at WWDC, Apple unveiled visionOS 27, alongside new software for Macs and iPhones. This latest version will include an upgraded Siri AI assistant and a dedicated Siri app. When using the Vision Pro, you can leverage visual intelligence to ask Siri about anything in your physical or digital environment instantly.
The developer beta for visionOS 27 is available now, with a public beta set to launch next month ahead of the full release in the fall. Apple has indicated that the Siri AI feature will be in beta later this year, initially supporting only English. Notably, it will be available in the EU at launch, unlike its counterparts on iPhone and iPad.
Upon its release, visionOS 27 will allow users to utilize their own panoramic photos as immersive scenes and environments. Apple claims that the Vision Pro will connect to Wi-Fi at speeds up to three times faster, and a new “extra-small” widget size will enhance customization options. Notifications on the Vision Pro can be expanded simply by looking at them. The Control Center in visionOS 27 has been redesigned, featuring three distinct sections: notifications and playback, core controls, and environments.
Apple is also adding support for curved windows in visionOS, mimicking the experience of curved monitors by bringing content edges closer without sacrificing screen space, effectively wrapping virtual windows around your surroundings. The first apps to support this feature will be Safari, Freeform, and Multiview on Apple TV.
Last year’s visionOS update introduced compatibility with PSVR 2 controllers, hands-free scrolling via Look to Scroll, the ability to unlock an iPhone while wearing a Vision Pro, call relaying from an iPhone, and an enhanced version of Apple’s 3D “Persona” avatars. It also brought spatial widgets that remain fixed in the physical world where users place them, like a virtual clock in your actual living room.
