Apple’s HomeView Smart Display Now Available for $10 Less on Amazon
Apple has just revealed that its first smart display, the HomeView, is set to launch on November 13th, and you can snag it now for $289.99, which is a $10 discount, available in both gray and the creamy white “starlight” color. While the savings are modest, it’s uncommon to see deals on new Apple products before they officially hit the market.
A full review of the HomeView is coming in November, but an early look from a colleague described it as an “iPhone for your home,” resembling a larger Apple Watch. It boasts a stunning seven-inch square touchscreen that can recognize up to six different users, seamlessly switching to personalized experiences and displaying relevant information for each individual.
In addition to its display capabilities, the HomeView serves as a smart home hub, supporting Matter and Thread protocols. This means you can control compatible smart devices, view live feeds and recorded footage from HomeKit Secure Video cameras, and more. It also includes a 12-megapixel FaceTime camera for video calls and functions as an entertainment device, allowing you to play music, showcase photos, and more.
Siri, Apple’s AI-powered assistant, plays a significant role in the HomeView experience. You can ask it questions and receive information tailored to your personal context, drawing from your messages, calendar, and emails. This means you can request help finding your lost keys, play a song someone sent you, pull up a recipe with step-by-step instructions and timers, or manage your schedule without needing to grab your phone.
