Arc Raiders Attracts Interest for Movie and TV Adaptations

Arc Raiders has made quite a splash in the gaming world, and it might just be on the verge of becoming a movie or TV series. Patrick Soderlund, CEO of Embark Studios, shared that the team has received a flurry of interest from Hollywood, although nothing has been finalized yet. “It needs to be done in the right way,” he emphasized, noting the numerous inquiries about turning this IP into a series or film. Soderlund expressed that it would be “fun” to see Arc Raiders adapted for the screen, but as of now, there are no official plans in place. He believes the IP has great potential for such adaptations.

Launched in October 2025, Arc Raiders found itself positioned between major titles like Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The game has thrived, reportedly selling 12 million copies and generating over $350 million in revenue. Just months after its release, Arc Raiders celebrated its biggest day yet and even snagged the Most Innovative Gameplay award at the Steam Awards.

While the prospect of a movie or TV show is exciting, it’s important to note that many projects are in various stages of development, and not all will make it to production. Currently, there are over 50 video game adaptations in the works, but only a handful are confirmed for release. Looking ahead, 2026 will bring us The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a new Street Fighter film, the next Mortal Kombat installment, and a Resident Evil movie directed by Zach Cregger. In 2027, fans can anticipate a live-action Zelda movie and the next Minecraft film. On the television front, one of the most anticipated shows is The Last of Us Season 3, expected to debut in 2027.
