Arc Raiders Developers Address Major Player Concerns
Since its launch, players of Arc Raiders have frequently voiced concerns about the game’s events and map conditions being locked to a 24-hour schedule. This setup can leave those who only have time to play at the same hour each day missing out on key content, including encounters with the Queen and Matriarch, the two endgame bosses that drop some of the best weapons and items.
The good news is that the developers at Embark Studios have taken notice of this feedback and have made a small adjustment to help address it. The newly introduced Bird City map condition is exclusive to the Buried City map and features rare rubber ducks to discover, along with a greater number of trinkets.
In a recent hotfix, which was first shared on Discord, the frequency of Bird City has been increased. No update is necessary; players just need to restart their client if they are currently in-game. This change is a promising first step, indicating that the event schedule can be modified. Embark has also stated, “we will keep revising and try to find a schedule for all conditions so that all time zones get a chance to play.”
Reactions to this announcement have been mixed, as the issue has persisted for a while. One player commented, “I just don’t get why they can’t make the rotation 25 hours long. It would make it naturally shift event start times over time.” Another added, “All the players hoping this was Embark fixing or implementing a new way for events to show up and not on a fixed schedule. RIP.”
In addition to Bird City, last week’s update introduced a variety of new quests, including “On The Map,” which takes players on a tour of Spaceport, as well as the Trophy Display project. Looking ahead, the roadmap for this month indicates that players can expect another new map condition, a new Arc threat, a player project, a raider deck, a map update, and more.
