Arc Raiders Faces Major Server Disruptions Due to Coordinated DDoS Attacks, Impacting Matchmaking; The Finals Also Affected

Embark Studios has reported that their servers are currently facing “extensive, coordinated DDoS attacks,” causing players of both Arc Raiders and The Finals to experience difficulties entering matches and dealing with significant lag once they do.

While the studio hasn’t specified when these attacks began, community lead Julia Ossen addressed players on Discord with an update regarding the server issues. In her message, she confirmed that both games are under attack and that the team is actively seeking solutions.

“The strike team has been working hard on mitigations and solutions to fix the problem, and we are making good progress,” Ossen stated. “However, the attacks are still ongoing.” She also mentioned that the team is addressing issues introduced in the last patch, which they aim to resolve today, January 28.

Ossen concluded her message by assuring players that updates will be provided on the Discord server as more information becomes available. “Stay vigilant, Raiders – and we’ll see you Topside when we’re through this,” she signed off.

On Reddit, players are sharing mixed reactions to the situation. Some report that they are able to enter and play matches without any issues, while others are experiencing severe lag.

Regarding Arc Raiders, the addition of Legendary guns for PvP is “completely possible,” but Embark has stated that they will not allow any “one-shot” kills, as they find that style of gameplay to be “deeply boring.”
