Arc Raiders introduces a game-changing Epic looting Augment, allowing players to stash weapons in their safe pocket and wield heavy shields simultaneously.
The Headwinds update for Arc Raiders has officially launched, introducing a host of new features, including a variety of birds, an exciting new mode, and two fantastic Epic augments. The community is buzzing about these augments, particularly one that offers much-needed strategic advantages.
The two new augments are Tactical Mk. 3 (Revival) and Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper). While Tactical Mk. 3 restores 1 HP every five seconds and seems like it would be the crowd favorite due to its consistent health boost, it’s the Looting Mk. 3 that’s truly stealing the spotlight.
Looting Mk. 3 provides a special pocket where you can store “any item,” allowing for the use of heavy shields. This means players can stash anything, including weapons, leading to some innovative strategies. One player on Reddit noted, “Lots of slots, heavy shields, and a safe pocket for guns? I see this being the new go-to for Queen/Matriarch events.”
Another player chimed in, “This is great for bringing yellow-tier weapons for Queens and Matriarchs. A way to stash your Hullcracker from rats. Heavy shield to help with Matriarch fights. It’s a nice PvE augment.”
Previously, the Survivor augment was the top choice due to its numerous slots and health regeneration when downed. However, the Safekeeper is set to shake things up, especially among seasoned players who are now exploring ways to optimize their builds, particularly with the option to reset during Cold Snap.
Just three months post-launch, Embark Studios is clearly committed to responding to community feedback and expanding gameplay possibilities. The Headwinds update even removed the guitar puzzle from Buried City, signaling that no aspect of the game is off-limits for adjustments. Whatever impact these new augments have, Matriarchs should definitely be on high alert.
In a fun twist, Arc Raiders players have discovered a real-life Stella Montis in Italy, and the reviews are rolling in with plenty of humor: “The Shredders are a bit of a nuisance.”
