Arc Raiders producer emphasizes commitment to the game’s future, gifting 1,000 tokens to all players for the holidays: The journey is just starting.
Few games have had a better year than Arc Raiders. After months of excitement from open betas, this shooter from Embark Studios launched in October to widespread acclaim. As the year wraps up, executive producer Aleksander Grondal has taken a moment to reflect on the enthusiastic reception and share a little gift for players.
“Internally, we were having a blast playing Arc Raiders before release, and your reaction to the tech test in April gave us a hint of what was to come,” he says. “What we didn’t expect was the overwhelming love and passion you all would show for this game.”
He notes that the team at Embark has “poured our hearts” into the project, and players are “doing the same.” The journey to this point was challenging, as the current version is a rework of an earlier concept, first unveiled in 2021, which was more focused on co-op gameplay. The relief within the company when their instincts were validated and players embraced this new direction must have been immense.
“The work is just beginning,” he emphasizes, reiterating the commitment to building lasting infrastructure. “We’re here for the long haul, to create a game that continues to excite and surprise – we hope you stick around for the journey!”
Grondal hints at “so much to show you” for 2026, and reveals that everyone will receive 1,000 Raider Tokens just for logging in. Just be sure to do so before the Cold Snap event wraps up on January 13.
It’s a fantastic way to cap off an incredible launch for what is undoubtedly one of 2025’s standout titles. Founded by former Battlefield developers, Embark faced tough competition from Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, yet it managed to shine, even winning Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards. Onwards and upwards!
Arc Raiders players tend to down each other a “surprisingly low” amount, according to the Embark lead, who admits the dev team is “way worse” than the community.
