The second Arc Raiders Expedition window opens on February 25 and runs through March 1, with developer Embark revealing what players need to do to maximize their rewards. The new target is 3 million coins, reduced from the previous 5 million.
“We want to address your feedback regarding the high Stash value requirement for maximum rewards. We’ve decided to lower it to 3 million Coins (600k per Skill Point),” the studio stated in a blog post. “You’ll still earn 5 Skill Points for reaching the 3 million Stash value.”
You have just under a month to complete the Expedition and gather enough coins, but there’s an important note. If you didn’t earn all five skill points from the first Expedition, you can still acquire additional skill points in this upcoming Expedition by collecting an extra 300,000 coins per skill point. This adjustment seems to be Embark’s way of addressing the previous 5 million requirement.
In essence, reaching 3 million coins will net you five skill points at the base level. If you manage to save an additional 1.5 million coins, you could potentially earn a total of 10 skill points through this catch-up mechanic.
“85 total is possible for those embarking on their second Expedition,” Embark clarified. While the wording is somewhat ambiguous, a community manager on the Arc Raiders Discord confirmed that “only players who participated in the first Expedition can take advantage of the skill point catch-up.”
Even if you missed just a few points from the last Expedition, you’re still getting a significant discount here – down from 1 million coins each – which is quite generous.
Embark has noted that this change doesn’t set a precedent for future Expeditions. Rewards and requirements may shift again, and “skill points won’t be available indefinitely for those who continue to depart,” the developers emphasized.
The other Expedition rewards, such as stash space, XP boosts, Scrappy material boosts, and repair value boosts, remain unchanged. Whether it’s your first or second Expedition, you’ll receive 12 additional stash slots, a 5% XP increase, a 6% boost in Scrappy materials, and a 10% increase in repair value (additive percentage points).
The exclusive Expedition outfit, Patchwork, is also getting an upgrade with more customization options. New Scrappy cosmetics will be available for the second Expedition, and the Expedition Indicator will be enhanced for “each Expedition completed.”
Embark also clarified that players who completed the first Expedition but do not participate in the second will retain their stash space, skill points, and cosmetics, but the boosts for XP, Scrappy materials, and repairs “will reset for those who choose not to depart again.”
Arc Raiders is tightening its grip on cheaters by blocking Steam Family Sharing workarounds to prevent abuse of shared licenses and to stop players from evading bans.
