Arc Raiders Update Balances Weapons and Unveils Abyss-Themed Cosmetics

Arc Raiders is set to roll out a brief but essential update in mid-January, focusing on toning down the power of two specific weapons: the Trigger ‘Nade and the Kettle. Embark Studios has recognized the balance issues surrounding these weapons in the 1.11.0 update. They pointed out that the Kettle’s maximum fire rate of 600 was primarily achievable through the use of macros, giving an unfair edge to players employing cheats. Post-update, the Kettle’s fire rate will be capped at 450.

Similarly, the Trigger ‘Nade has been dominating PvP encounters, with players opting for it over other grenades. To address this, the update will limit its damage radius to the center of the explosion and increase the detonation time to 1.5 seconds, allowing opponents a better chance to react. This change also aims to reduce its effectiveness as a “trigger-in-air” grenade.

In addition to weapon adjustments, the Abyss cosmetic set is making its debut, featuring a helm with a “scyring techno-eye” that, while not operational, adds an intimidating flair. Embark also celebrated the milestone of 12 million copies sold by rewarding all players who joined before January 13 with the “Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool.” Furthermore, the studio has committed to enhancing anti-cheat measures in the game soon.

Here are the complete notes for Arc Raiders’ January Update 1.11.0:

**Kettle**
– Dev note: Reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous rate was primarily achievable through macros, creating an unfair advantage.

**Trigger ‘Nade**
– Dev note: The Trigger ‘Nade has been dominating PvP encounters, leading players to favor it over other grenades. This nerf aims to reduce its effectiveness as a “trigger-in-air” grenade while maintaining its utility as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been adjusted to focus damage closer to the explosion’s center, with reduced damage at a distance. The delay before detonation has been increased from 0.7 seconds to 1.5 seconds, providing players more time to react and complicating timing for aerial detonations.

**Bugs**
– Fixed a key card exploit that allowed players to retain room keys after use.
– Lighting has been adjusted in certain areas of Stella Montis Night Raid, making flashlights and sound more significant.
