Ubisoft is finally giving players of Assassin’s Creed Shadows what they’ve been clamoring for: a manual jump feature in the latest update.

As Assassin’s Creed Shadows approaches its one-year anniversary, Ubisoft continues to roll out updates. While some have been met with mixed reactions—like the Attack on Titan crossover that didn’t involve any titan battles—most updates have been positively received, especially with the surprisingly well-executed Nintendo Switch 2 port gaining traction as the year wraps up. Now, Ubisoft has introduced a long-requested feature.

In the latest patch notes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft announced, “it’s finally here!”—the ability to jump, a feature that has been a staple in many previous Assassin’s Creed titles. The developers stated, “We’ve heard your request and are bringing back a fan favorite feature for parkour.” With the “Advanced Parkour” option activated, players can now have Yasuke or Naoe jump at any moment, transforming the game world into a more dynamic playground for parkour fans.

While it’s debatable how much this will fundamentally alter gameplay, it’s great to see the studio responding to player feedback, even if it’s puzzling that a jump button was absent in a parkour-centric series.

The rest of the patch includes typical bug fixes and balance adjustments, with highlights such as more detailed stats, improved visuals for critical hits, and a new method to access the Animus menu in-game. This update is relatively minor for players on Steam, Switch 2, or PS5, while the patch sizes for PC (via the Ubisoft launcher) and Xbox Series X|S are 13.24GB and 15.77GB, respectively, with a release date set for February 17, 2026.

Like Skull and Bones, Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Mirage are being touted as “AAAA” games, according to a Ubisoft producer.
