Asus ROG Launches 240Hz Gaming Glasses for Extended Reality Experience
Asus has made a splash at the Consumer Electronics Show with its latest Extended Reality glasses. In collaboration with Xreal, the Asus ROG Xreal R1 is packed with cutting-edge tech in a sleek design, allowing you to stream video directly to your eyes through a USB-C connection. The glasses boast 240Hz micro-OLED 1080p lenses and come with an ROG Control Dock for HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity. You can also connect them to an ROG Ally using a single USB-C cable for a smooth experience. Asus claims the lenses provide a 57-degree field of view and create a virtual screen size of 171 inches at a distance of four virtual meters, covering 95% of the focused viewing area. True to Asus’s Republic of Gamers branding, these glasses feature RGB lighting on the sides. Weighing in at just 91 grams, they also include built-in Bose speakers, and the electrochromic technology allows the lenses to tint automatically or on demand based on lighting conditions. While pricing details are still under wraps, Asus plans to launch the glasses in the first half of 2026. This announcement is part of a series of exciting reveals from Asus at CES 2026. Fans of the ROG gaming laptops can also look forward to several new models throughout the year, including a significantly upgraded version of the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo, which will feature two 120Hz OLED HDR displays, each measuring 16 inches, along with a detachable wireless keyboard.
