August’s PlayStation Plus lineup features a strong contender for 2025’s Game of the Year.

On Wednesday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Helldivers 2 will be added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Shortly after, they unveiled the complete lineup of games coming in August, and it’s an impressive selection. Titles like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Hell is Us, Vampire Survivors, and more will be available starting August 12 for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a medieval RPG that launched in February 2025 and quickly became a strong contender for Game of the Year. However, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which released two months later, ended up sweeping the awards. In KCD2, players take on the role of Henry, the protagonist from the first game, set in 15th century Europe amid a civil war. The game promises a “tumultuous tale of vengeance, betrayal, and self-discovery,” as described officially. While it’s a direct sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is designed to be accessible for both newcomers and those who played the original from 2018.

The new additions to the Game Catalog will be rolled out on staggered dates. Helldivers 2 is currently available for U.S. subscribers, while the rest will be released starting August 18. Here’s the full list of new titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August 2026 and their availability for U.S. players:

The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for PS4 and PS5 is accessible to subscribers of the higher tiers beyond Essential. This service is Sony’s response to Xbox Game Pass, providing hundreds of games for subscribers to download and enjoy.

Additionally, the PS Plus Essential games for August 2026 are also available for download, featuring the Game of the Year contender Big Walk.
