Avengers: Doomsday boasts one of the most impressive casts in Marvel history, a fact not lost on newcomer Lewis Pullman, who described being on set as “like attending the Met Gala filled with superheroes.”
“I felt completely out of my element the entire time,” Pullman shared in an interview. “I was genuinely amazed at how I could contribute to something surrounded by so many legends… I had a blast. I can’t wait to see the film.”
Pullman made his MCU debut in the 2025 film Thunderbolts, which features antiheroes Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker as they embark on a perilous mission in a world without the Avengers. Pullman portrays a character named Bob, who is revealed to be the Marvel superhero and supervillain known as Sentry and The Void.
The post-credit scene of Thunderbolts sets the stage for Avengers: Doomsday, with the final moment showing the ragtag team rebranding as The New Avengers. We also see the Fantastic Four join forces with these groups to confront Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, the main antagonist of Avengers: Doomsday. It’s no surprise that Thunderbolts stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Wyatt Russell will also appear in Doomsday alongside Pullman.
But that’s not all! The extensive casting announcement for Avengers: Doomsday reveals that, in addition to the new Fantastic Four, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will return, along with a host of original X-Men characters, the Wakandans, and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. It’s easy to see why Pullman felt “flabbergasted.”
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18. Stay tuned for updates on Marvel Phase 6 and all the upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows on the way.
