Avengers: Doomsday’s new trailer raises eyebrows with its empty moments, leading fans to suspect a hidden spoiler.
Marvel enthusiasts are once again showcasing their sharp observational skills with a new theory circulating about the latest trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Fans are speculating that significant plot details may have been digitally removed.
One user on Twitter pointed out, “There are [several] things/people digitally edited out of the 4th Avengers Doomsday Trailer…”
In this fourth teaser, we see key characters from Wakanda, including Shuri and M’Baku, interacting with the Thing from the Fantastic Four. However, there’s a noticeable amount of empty space that seems to be concealing other characters and elements.
Theories are swirling that the Russos might be keeping characters like Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four’s ship, which was first hinted at in the Thunderbolts post-credits scene, under wraps.
While the truth remains to be uncovered, there’s a strong possibility that this theory holds water, especially since we haven’t yet seen what Doom is up to in the series of Doomsday trailers released so far.
Marvel has a history of cleverly hiding major reveals in their trailers. For instance, Spider-Man: No Way Home awkwardly edited out Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, yet accidentally left in a shot of one of the Spideys kicking the Lizard in the background.
The Russo brothers even included fake spoilers in the initial Avengers: Infinity War trailer, most notably a scene of Hulk charging into battle in Wakanda, despite Bruce Banner remaining human after his defeat by Thanos.
After the latest trailer dropped, Joe and Anthony Russo further fueled speculation by stating that these aren’t just trailers; they’re “stories” and “clues” as we count down to the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
Mark your calendars—Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
