Avengers: Secret Wars Casting Ignites Exciting X-Men Fan Theories

With just a few months left until Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters, excitement is building around the casting for next year’s sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios has kept details under wraps, especially regarding who will be joining the roster in this highly anticipated installment, likely to avoid spoiling any surprises from Doomsday.

A recent report has surfaced, revealing some unofficial casting news for Avengers: Secret Wars.

British actor Noah Jupe is said to have joined the cast, although specifics about his role remain undisclosed. However, it’s been indicated that his character will play a significant part in the unfolding narrative. Jupe is recognized for his performances in the A Quiet Place films, where he portrays Marcus Abbott, the son of Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s characters. He has also appeared in Chloé Zhao’s Oscar-winning Hamnet and in The Night Manager alongside Tom Hiddleston. Recently, he shared the stage with Sadie Sink in the West End production of Romeo & Juliet.

Jupe has worked alongside several familiar faces from the MCU, making him feel like part of the Marvel family already.

While there’s no official word yet, fans are buzzing with theories about what role Jupe might take on in the MCU. A popular speculation is that he could portray Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, who is a newborn in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. With some younger characters in the MCU, like T’Challa II from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, seemingly aging up, it’s possible Franklin Richards could follow suit.

At 21 years old, Jupe has also sparked speculation that he might be one of the new X-Men. Marvel recently announced part of its new X-Men cast, confirming Sadie Sink’s return as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm, with Christopher Abbott leading as Charles Xavier. Jupe could fit right in with this talented group, potentially taking on a mutant role like Nightcrawler, Iceman, or even Wolverine.

Other theories suggest he could be an alternate-universe Tony Stark or Nathaniel “Nate” Richards/Iron Lad. Some fans have even speculated about him playing characters central to the Secret Wars comics, such as Molecule Man or the Beyonder, though these powerful comic book figures might be a stretch for Marvel Studios, which is likely to opt for a more straightforward approach to the beloved storyline.

As with the X-Men cast, we should soon get clarity on Marvel’s direction for the big screen adaptation of Secret Wars.

Avengers: Secret Wars is set to premiere in theaters on December 17, 2027.
