Avengers: Secret Wars Could See the Return of a Beloved MCU Character
Another familiar face from the MCU has hinted at a potential return to the battlefield, even before any official announcements. Following Letitia Wright’s confirmation of her involvement in Avengers: Secret Wars after Avengers: Doomsday, Paul Bettany has suggested that he might be stepping back into the role of Vision for the upcoming superhero sequel.
In a recent chat with an outlet, Bettany shared insights about his future projects, mentioning some superhero duties alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. “I think I’ve got some Avengers duties next year,” he teased, likely alluding to the 2027 film where the heroes will confront the aftermath of Doctor Doom’s arrival.
When discussing his workload, Bettany clarified that it’s not as overwhelming as many might assume. “I think journalists imagine we have a mountain of scripts, and that’s not true. It’s not like I’m turning down [director] Alfonso Cuarón to go and do Marvel movies – Alfonso Cuarón just hasn’t called.”
Regardless of his role in Secret Wars, one project we can expect to see him in is VisionQuest, the upcoming Disney+ series set to debut in 2026. He’ll be joined by James Spader, returning as Ultron, and Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed, the son of Wanda and Vision.
The events of VisionQuest could very well set the stage for Secret Wars, but we’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
