Baseus Unveils Smart Security Camera with Spotlight Tracking for Moving Objects
Baseus has unveiled an exciting new addition to its range of AI-driven security cameras, designed to take a more proactive stance against unwanted intruders rather than merely recording their presence. The Baseus Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera features a motorized spotlight that targets moving individuals, illuminating them even as they traverse your property, making it clear they’ve been spotted. This focused light not only enhances nighttime video quality for better identification but also aids your family during late-night activities, like walking the dog.
The Baseus U2 Pro is currently available on Amazon in the US for $269.99, with European sales kicking off on October 15th at €269.99. In addition to the spotlight, the U2 Pro includes a 3K fixed camera that continuously monitors a designated area, paired with a second 3K camera capable of zooming, tilting, and panning 360 degrees to cover the rest of your surroundings. Its full-color night vision feature makes it easier to recognize people, animals, or even the color of a suspicious vehicle.
Equipped with “AI-powered analysis,” the U2 Pro sends alerts upon detecting motion, providing summaries and descriptions that distinguish between people, pets, vehicles, and even activities like package deliveries. It intelligently filters out irrelevant movements, such as swaying tree branches, and familiar activities to prevent notification overload. Footage is recorded only when motion is detected and stored locally on a 512GB encrypted memory card, accessible remotely via Baseus’ mobile app. You can also monitor live feeds from the cameras using Amazon Alexa or Google Home smart devices.
Baseus claims that installation of the U2 Pro takes about two minutes with mounts that attach to walls or ceilings. The camera connects wirelessly to your home network and is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 150 days, though this may vary based on activity levels. An included 3W solar panel can be positioned on top of the cameras or nearby to ensure it receives sunlight, with just 40 minutes of exposure providing enough energy for a full day’s operation.
