Beloved comedy isekai anime returns for a new season!

During a special live-stream event celebrating its 10th anniversary, it was announced that KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! will be getting a fourth season of the anime.

Hosted by the voice actors of Kazuma, Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness, the event unveiled several exciting initiatives to mark a decade of isekai adventures. Among these are a new video game for PC and mobile set to launch in 2026, an exhibition of original works at the UDX Building in Akihabara, Tokyo, an audio drama penned by the light novel’s author, Akatsuki Natsume, and a limited-time re-run of past episodes on YouTube. A special key visual for the 10th anniversary was also revealed.

The highlight for fans was the confirmation of the fourth season’s production. However, details on its release date remain under wraps. While the third season premiered in 2024, predicting the arrival of the next installment is tricky, especially since season 2 debuted back in 2017. Fans are hopeful that they won’t have to wait that long again. It will be intriguing to see if studio Drive returns to produce the new season after taking over from Deen for the third. Nevertheless, 2026 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for isekai enthusiasts, with three other major series set to air, making the wait a bit more bearable.

KonoSuba has become a beloved title in the isekai genre, based on the light novel series by Akatsuki Natsume and illustrated by Mishima Kurone. It gained popularity for its lively humor and clever subversion of genre tropes. When Kazuma Satou is reincarnated in a new world, he has no desire to be a hero or confront the Demon Lord. Instead, he drags the ditzy goddess Aqua along and forms a party of misfits focused on enjoying a comfortable life while (often unsuccessfully) avoiding trouble.
