Beloved Game on Mortality Faces Shutdown Amid New Regulations, Awaiting Its Creator’s Intervention
Be Dead Forever Simulator launched in 2019 as a free-to-play experience on Roblox, quickly attracting over 153 million players who have invested countless hours into it. However, due to new age-gating regulations introduced by Roblox, the game has become entirely unplayable. The only hope for its revival lies with its creator, who hasn’t logged into their account in almost a year.
Fans on Reddit recently noted that players can no longer access Be Dead Forever. This isn’t due to any glitches or technical issues; rather, the game remains unrated. This situation conflicts with a new rule implemented by Roblox earlier this year. Data from player charts suggests that the game became unplayable around July 2.
Roblox has faced ongoing scrutiny from parents and government officials, prompting the platform to enhance age verification features and restrict interactions to protect younger users. In August 2025, Roblox began requiring creators to assign maturity ratings to their games, aiming to prevent kids and younger teens from accessing more adult-oriented content.
However, this requirement poses a challenge for older games like Be Dead Forever Simulator, which lacks an active creator. Now, a year after the age rating rule was put in place, Be Dead Forever Simulator has been designated as “Unrated,” rendering it unplayable until its creator assigns a rating. The game’s creator, mad_hhhh, has not logged into their Roblox account in nearly a year and was reportedly infrequent even before that. As a result, it seems likely that Be Dead Forever Simulator will remain permanently unplayable.
Many Roblox players are advocating for the company to automatically assign an 18+ rating to any game that hasn’t been rated by its creator. This approach would allow adult players to continue enjoying these titles, even if the original creators are no longer active. However, Roblox appears hesitant to implement such a change.
“Man, this is really sad,” lamented a former player on Reddit. “I remember the old maps, the events, watching videos on YouTube about secrets and stuff…I remember playing with admins who turned people into SCPs and stuff; that was fun!”
