Bethesda Encourages Players to Revisit Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda is deep into the development of The Elder Scrolls 6, and the RPG is at a stage where it’s already playable. However, it may be quite a while before we see the direction the Xbox studio takes with this fantasy adventure, and even longer before we catch a glimpse of the next major Fallout installment. In the meantime, both The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 continue to thrive, with fresh content on the way. During the recent Xbox Showcase, Bethesda revealed significant updates for both titles.

The Elder Scrolls Online is set to launch its first Thieves Guild-themed season on July 8, marking the first new story content since 2016 that expands on the faction’s narrative. Bethesda has crafted this content with player feedback in mind.

“Alongside a new story and cast, players will team up with the guild to take on the nefarious Koldane Cartel and expand into Daggerfall,” Bethesda stated in a news release. “Season One will introduce many new adventures and evergreen systems, providing players with fresh ways to engage with characters, guilds, and the environments around them.”

Fallout 76 is also thriving with the Infestations update, a free addition that introduces a mechanic where factions can battle for control over territories. This new content is being compared to raids, promising players a challenging experience. Bethesda showcased this update with an exciting new trailer featuring The Ghoul from the Amazon adaptation of the franchise, who can be seen fishing. Fallout 76 players who dive in soon will receive free daily rewards from June 7 to June 15.

“Explore overrun zones filled with unpredictable enemies, battle powerful elite bosses with unique mutations and mechanics, and earn exclusive four-star Legendary rewards as you reclaim familiar areas from hostile forces,” Bethesda explains. “With multiple Infestations appearing organically throughout the world, players can jump into intense mini-raid-style battles as they adventure across Appalachia.”

While the majority of Bethesda’s focus is currently on The Elder Scrolls 6, fans of Starfield shouldn’t feel neglected — there’s still more in store for the futuristic RPG. The only concrete detail we have is that Bethesda is giving serious thought to character builds in The Elder Scrolls 6, which is likely to please fans of Oblivion.
