Blizzard Unveils First Details of World of Warcraft’s Upcoming Expansion, The Last Titan

Shortly after showcasing a fresh look at World of Warcraft: Midnight’s upcoming major update, Eclipse, Blizzard Entertainment hinted at the MMO’s next big expansion during BlizzCon 2026. A brief teaser for World of Warcraft: The Last Titan was presented at the opening ceremony, giving players a glimpse of what to expect in the final chapter of WoW’s Worldsoul Saga.

At BlizzCon 2026, Holly Longdale, the executive producer and vice president for World of Warcraft, promised an exciting year ahead for the franchise. She then introduced game designer Ion Hazzikostas, who outlined what players can look forward to in the Eclipse update.

The new cinematic trailer for Eclipse features the Worldsoul Saga antagonist Xal’atath “a toe’s length away” from her ultimate goal, according to Hazzikostas. He assured fans that after shifting some narrative elements in World of Warcraft: The War Within and Midnight, “it’s all gas, no brakes” moving forward.

Following the Eclipse trailer reveal, Hazzikostas teased the next expansion, The Last Titan, but cautioned that details would be scarce to avoid spoiling the dramatic events of Midnight.

Blizzard plans to share more about The Last Titan early next year, after Eclipse launches. As a hint, Longdale mentioned that Blizzard is “putting the war back in Warcraft.”

The Last Titan will mark the 12th expansion for World of Warcraft, set to release sometime in 2027.
