Borderlands Creator Hints at Google Pixel Watch 5 Features

It looks like we might have caught a glimpse of the Google Pixel Watch 5, and the source is quite unexpected. Randy Pitchford, known for creating the Borderlands series, shared a couple of images of a watch on X, claiming that his friend discovered it while scuba diving near Saint Martin.

According to Pitchford, the back of the watch reveals it to be a Google Pixel 5, which hasn’t been officially announced or released yet. He mentioned, “It seems to be fine. The face indicates an empty battery, but seems to have enough reserve power to display the correct time.” After reaching out to find the owner, Pitchford noted that someone got in touch with him, and he has arranged for the watch’s return. Google has not yet responded to requests for comment.

Details about the upcoming Pixel Watch remain scarce, but earlier rumors hinted that it might feature Google’s own Tensor processor. This situation is reminiscent of the leak surrounding the original Pixel Watch in 2022, when someone shared images of the unannounced device on Reddit, claiming it was found by a bartender at their workplace. And we can’t forget the infamous iPhone 4 leak from 2010.

Google usually unveils its latest Pixel devices in August, so we won’t have to wait long to find out if someone really did drop a yet-to-be-revealed Pixel Watch 5 into the ocean.
