Bose Launches First Wired Earbuds in Over a Decade with Noise-Canceling Features

Bose is making a comeback in the wired earbud scene with the launch of its first pair since 2015, aptly named the Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds. These new earbuds eliminate the hassle of battery life and the need for regular charging. While their features are straightforward, they incorporate over a decade of earbud advancements, including active noise canceling.

You can preorder them now for $99 through Bose’s online store, available in three colors: black, white smoke, and a special “limited edition” green called dewdrop mint. Although the company states they will start shipping on October 15th, the online store lists October 13th as the date.

Each earbud is equipped with two microphones that work with Bose’s QuietControl technology to provide active noise canceling with various modes, easily switched using a button on the inline remote. Quiet Mode minimizes surrounding sounds, while Aware Mode amplifies them, and you can also disable ANC altogether. Additionally, the inline remote features another microphone for phone calls, designed to capture your voice clearly without needing to be held close.

Instead of a traditional headphone jack, the earbuds come with a USB-C connector, allowing for a direct link to smartphones and laptops, supporting lossless audio with low latency. They also boast an IPX4 water resistance rating, making them suitable for sweat, rain, and splashes, though they shouldn’t be submerged. A zippered carrying case is included, along with three sizes of silicone eartips and two sizes of stability wings for a secure fit during workouts.
