Brendan Fraser’s New Look Unveiled in The Mummy 4 Set Photos

Over the weekend, fans of The Mummy got their first glimpse of Rachel Weisz reprising her role as Evie Carnahan in the upcoming installment, still untitled. After missing out on 2008’s The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, she’s set to reunite with Brendan Fraser, who returns as the adventurous Rick O’Connell.

On Monday, set photos surfaced showcasing Fraser’s fresh look for the film. He’s seen in a stylish black leather jacket, holding a white helmet. An extra in the background dons a “Rick O’Connell Racing” jacket, hinting that Rick may have taken up race car driving in his retirement from treasure hunting.

The set features a sleek rocket car, likely for a scene where Rick attempts to break a speed record and shatter the sound barrier, as suggested by some background signage. A few images appear to show Fraser’s stunt double. Additionally, there’s a new shot of Weisz on set, standing in front of the British Museum with crew and extras nearby.

After two fan-favorite films (and despite The Mummy Returns’ Rotten Tomatoes score, which doesn’t reflect its fun), the franchise stumbled with the poorly received Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The 2017 reboot featuring Tom Cruise also failed to impress.

Nostalgic fans are hopeful that The Mummy 4 will restore the series to its popcorn-movie charm. Alongside Fraser and Weisz, several familiar faces are returning: Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, John Hannah as Jonathan Carnahan, Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep, and Kevin J. O’Connor as Beni Gabor, who met his end in the first film. The Mummy 4 is set to hit theaters on October 15, 2027.

Decades of anticipation culminate in one fateful call.
