Capcom’s Disney collection arrives on Nintendo Switch, featuring one of the Resident Evil creator’s early titles.
After a recent leak from the ESRB, the Nintendo eShop has confirmed that Capcom’s The Disney Afternoon Collection is finally making its way to the Switch and Switch 2, complete with additional games.
It’s surprising that The Disney Afternoon Collection hasn’t appeared on Nintendo platforms until now, especially since it launched just a month after the Switch and features a lineup of NES titles. Earlier this month, the collection received a rating for Switch and Switch 2, published by Atari, which owns Digital Eclipse, the developer behind the collection, rather than Capcom. Now, Nintendo has inadvertently revealed its existence as well.
On the Japanese eShop, The Disney Afternoon Collection was spotted for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, with a release date set for February 26, 2026, priced at 2,300 Yen (approximately £10 / £15). An introductory offer will reduce the price to 2,070 Yen (around £9.78 / $13.50).
Most importantly, this re-release addresses a significant shortcoming of the original: it lacked two beloved Disney Afternoon titles that were available on the SNES.
This new version includes the side-scrolling platformer Bonkers and the cooperative adventure game Goof Troop. The latter is particularly noteworthy as it was one of the first projects led by Shinji Mikami, who would later go on to create the iconic Resident Evil series just three years after its release.
After 30 years, two previously unreleased Virtual Boy games are finally making their debut on Switch, featuring a canceled F-Zero racer and a unique platformer developed by the Fire Emblem studio.
