Captain America’s Comeback Teased in Avengers: Doomsday Trailer
The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has officially dropped, giving Marvel enthusiasts their first glimpse at next year’s major MCU blockbuster in stunning 4K. While it may not reveal much to those who have seen Avatar: Fire and Ash or followed the leaks about Steve Rogers’ comeback, it does showcase Chris Evans returning as an Avenger, along with a tiny new addition to the MCU—Steve’s little one.
To clarify: Steve Rogers is back in Avengers: Doomsday. (But will he still be Captain America?)
Marvel is set to release four trailers for Avengers: Doomsday this month, one each week. Expect trailers focusing on Thor—who’s been the subject of numerous leaks—and Doctor Doom to arrive soon, culminating in a larger trailer that promises a more in-depth look at the film and its extensive cast in superhero gear.
For now, we get to see Steve, his boots, his motorcycle, and that adorable bundle of joy, alongside a menacing Doomsday clock countdown.
After a string of underwhelming box office performances for its superhero films, Marvel Studios aims to recapture the magic of Avengers: Endgame with a star-studded lineup that brings back beloved characters from over a decade of the MCU and the Fox X-Men era. Even Shang-Chi is making a return! Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are back at the helm, tasked with reigniting the cultural buzz and box office success of their previous Avengers films.
The upcoming Avengers movie features Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, alongside returning Marvel favorites like Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as White Widow, Kelsey Grammer as the Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. And of course, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, with a direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, already in the pipeline for 2027.
