ChatGPT’s New ‘Intelligent UI’ Update Enhances Responses with Visuals and Interactive Elements

OpenAI is introducing an exciting new Intelligent UI feature in ChatGPT that enhances the chatbot’s ability to respond to your queries with interactive visuals. This update, launching alongside GPT-6, empowers ChatGPT to merge text responses with diagrams, charts, forms, tappable buttons, and more.

In a recent announcement, OpenAI explained that they trained GPT-6 to determine when to generate these interactive visuals instead of just text, as well as how to format them effectively. For instance, if you inquire about the design of a seven-speed bicycle, ChatGPT can present a diagram that includes interactive buttons to highlight various components.

Another example illustrates how ChatGPT can assist you in learning Mahjong by generating visuals of each tile and categorizing them for easy scrolling. You can also request ChatGPT to create tools for various tasks, such as a retirement savings calculator, a retro game, or a bill splitter, which it will generate inline with its responses.

Last month, OpenAI unveiled its initial GPT-6 models, and now it’s rolling out the Sol and Luna versions for ChatGPT. Beyond enabling the Intelligent UI, GPT-6 enhances ChatGPT’s web search capabilities and allows it to provide quicker, partial answers while gathering information. The company also noted that GPT-6 demonstrates improved resistance to attempts to bypass its safety training.

The rollout of GPT-6 with Intelligent UI is starting today for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users globally, with plans to extend access to Go and free tiers on Thursday. Higher-tier subscribers will have access to the mid-range GPT-6 Sol model, while Go and free users will utilize the more efficient GPT-6 Luna.
