Thor star Chris Hemsworth may be featured in his own Avengers: Doomsday teaser, but he’s particularly fond of a moment involving one of his co-stars.
“I thought it was pretty cool when [Chris] Evans shows up on the motorbike, especially since no one knew he was going to be in the film,” Hemsworth shares. “I just thought it was awesome. Plus, he had a baby in real life and in the Marvel universe.”
The first teaser for the upcoming Avengers movie, released last December alongside screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, showcased the (not-so) unexpected return of Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers to the MCU.
After relinquishing the Captain America title at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson has taken up the mantle. However, in the trailer, we see Steve returning home on a motorbike to hold a baby—he may not be Captain America anymore, but he’s embraced fatherhood.
Thor’s teaser also highlights the theme of new parenthood. The clip offers a glimpse of his adopted daughter Love, as the hero asks his father Odin to bring him home to her after his next battle “not as a warrior, but as warmth.”
Joining Hemsworth, Evans, and Mackie, the expansive cast of Avengers: Doomsday features Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Tom Hiddleston, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart.
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18. For more on Marvel Phase 6, check out our guide to the upcoming Marvel movies and shows.
