Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has solidified its status as the most-awarded Game of the Year ever, further extending its lead over Elden Ring and other titles with a stellar performance at the annual DICE Awards.

This French RPG recently took the crown for the most GOTY wins, surpassing Elden Ring last month, with a total of 436 awards compared to Elden Ring’s 429, counting accolades from various award shows and media outlets.

Last night, Sandfall Interactive’s debut title added five more wins at DICE, including Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Role-Playing Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Story, and Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction.

It triumphed over competitors like Arc Raiders, Blue Prince, Dispatch, and Ghost of Yotei for the top honors. Other notable winners included South of Midnight for its stunning animation, Blue Prince for best game design, and three awards for Ghost of Yotei. It was also great to see indie titles like Consume Me and Despelote competing alongside AAA games rather than being relegated to separate categories.

Here are all the winners from the DICE Awards 2026:

A Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fan reported that their merchandise was held up by customs officials who suspected it might be an ancient artifact: “They opened the package and thought the art book looked a bit too old.”
