Control Resonant’s launch update balances gameplay for a smoother yet challenging experience.
Control Resonant has officially launched worldwide today, but some players have been diving into the action for a few days now. In addition to the positive reviews from critics, fans who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition got a two-day head start. This early access has allowed players to share their feedback, prompting a day-one patch aimed at addressing one of the game’s main concerns: combat balance.
According to the official patch notes, Remedy acknowledges that “Depending on player progression, enemies can feel too tanky during the early hours of the game.” The studio is confident that the adjustments made in this hotfix will enhance the gameplay experience while still maintaining a suitable level of challenge, steering clear of any drastic changes.
Here are the three key adjustments included in the day-one patch:
These modifications should significantly enhance the early-game balance, particularly in how vulnerable Dylan feels against tougher enemies. Expect more updates from Remedy in the near future, and don’t forget to check out our beginner’s guide for some useful tips and tricks.
While the combat adjustments are the highlight of this hotfix, there are additional changes worth noting. To promote experimentation with different character builds, the cost of respeccing Dylan’s stats has been permanently lowered, and the availability of “Reset Items” has been increased at all in-game vendors. Furthermore, the first Resonant boss now drops two “Reset Items” instead of just one. Remedy also reminds players that the game features an extensive Assist Mode, allowing for customization of the gameplay experience, whether players want it easier or more challenging.
Lastly, Remedy has made some updates to the UI in the English version of the game to clarify Build Power and Aberrant Strength. For Build Power, “Multiplier X%” will now be displayed as “Damage and Falter X%.” For Aberrant Strength, the description has been updated to read, “From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades.”
Control Resonant is now available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
