Costco Offers Unbeatable RAM Deal for PC Gamers
What would you do if you stumbled into a warehouse store and found an incredible gaming rig priced at just $1,100? Would you be tempted to drop a mere five bucks to check out Warren Spector’s latest title, Thick as Thieves? And what features would you want to see in a new Injustice game? Welcome to the Checkpoint for April 29, 2026. I’m Carolyn, stepping in for Ethan, who had to dash off to a meeting before he could greet everyone. Sorry about that! As for my own spending habits, I’m still on the fence about Thick as Thieves, but I’m definitely planning to shell out some cash tonight after work to dive into the intense cycle of death and rebirth in Saros. Who’s joining me?
You never know what treasures you might find at a warehouse store. It could be a massive bag of rice for $10, a box of dinosaur-shaped nuggets for $15, or even a powerful iBuyPower gaming PC featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM for just $1,100. That’s exactly what one lucky poster on a PC gaming subreddit experienced this week.
“I had to grab it immediately; I don’t need an upgrade right now, so I’m passing it on to a close friend for the same price I paid, which was about $1,175 after tax. It’s wild how I just happened to wander into the store,” they shared.
That’s a fantastic deal, especially for the RAM, which alone would cost over $500 if bought separately. Tossing in a 2TB NVMe SSD is a nice bonus too. Other users speculated on why the store would sell the PC at such a low price. Perhaps it was discontinued or just gathering dust on the shelf? The mystery of the warehouse gaming lottery is always intriguing. It’s certainly a better find than rummaging through trash for RAM.

In a recent interview, director Akifumi Nakanishi revealed that there was a scrapped “Chapter 2” for Resident Evil 7 during its development. “It was a scene where you transition from the first annex to the main building. Interestingly, there was also a phantom Chapter 2 for Resident Evil Requiem,” he explained. He noted that making cuts is a standard part of the development process, not just something that happens at the end to meet deadlines, but throughout to ensure the story flows well.
The immersive sim has shifted from a PvPvE format to focusing on solo and cooperative play, which is a bit disappointing since the multiplayer aspect seemed like a standout feature. To entice players in the competitive Steam landscape, Thick as Thieves will offer its introductory campaign for just $5, with additional content available for purchase later.
Kraken Express is taking its time with updates for its popular pirate-themed game on Steam. While the team has plans for future content, including a new Ashlands biome, the first major post-launch update won’t be ready until fall. “The scope of what we want to achieve is quite ambitious,” the studio stated. “So we believe this update will take at least six months to deliver. While that may seem lengthy, we’re confident it will allow us to provide an exciting and meaningful expansion of the game at the right quality.”
Recent successes, including Nioh 3 and Pokémon Pokopia, which Omega Force co-developed with Game Freak, have led to a 16-percent profit increase for the Japanese publisher this fiscal year. That’s an even bigger leap than the last time Koei Tecmo released a slew of titles. I hope Ninja Gaiden 4 performed well enough to warrant its revival because I’m eager to see that franchise return.
According to a new report, there are strong indications that the studio behind Mortal Kombat is reviving its fan-favorite DC Comics fighting game.
