Creators of Saw are back for a new film directed by the helmer of Wrong Turn.
The latest entry in the Saw franchise has been announced, and it’s generating buzz among fans. The teaser video features Jigsaw’s iconic puppet, gleefully riding its tricycle. As the clip wraps up, the camera pans to reveal a script with the title “Untitled Saw,” directed by Mike P. Nelson.
Nelson, recognized for his work on horror reboots like Wrong Turn (2021) and Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025), is expected to bring a fresh yet familiar approach to the Saw series. This new installment appears to aim for a return to the franchise’s roots, harking back to the original Saw (2004), which was directed by James Wan and co-created with Leigh Whannell. After stepping away for some time, both Wan and Whannell are back as producers for this project.
Interestingly, the film is being referred to as untitled rather than Saw 11, leading many fans to speculate that it might be a reboot or a remake rather than a direct sequel to Saw X. Reports suggest that there’s a strong emphasis on honoring the original film, with Wan expressing confidence that Nelson will respect the essence of the Saw universe. The untitled movie is said to aim to “bring the mystery of the original while exploring new bloody ideas,” with Wan’s faith in Nelson echoing the success of the first Saw.
While it’s likely that this new title will draw heavily from the original Saw, it could also serve as a complete reboot. For now, though, fans will need to stay patient and keep an eye out for more updates on this intriguing new chapter in the Saw saga. And the timing couldn’t be better.
