Crimson Desert has received a mix of reviews, but a significant concern has emerged regarding the presence of what seemed to be AI-generated assets in the final version of the game. The developer has confirmed that AI art was indeed utilized during the game’s development, although it was meant to be replaced before launch. In a statement on social media, the team announced they are conducting a “comprehensive audit” to identify and substitute any AI-generated content.

They expressed regret for including this content in the final release and for not being more forthcoming about its use during development. “We should have clearly disclosed our use of AI,” they acknowledged.
