Crimson Desert Launches Playable Demo Without Download Required

Pearl Abyss is inviting gamers to dive into Crimson Desert with a free 20-minute demo. What’s particularly intriguing about this demo is that it’s accessible through a Twitch stream in a web browser, eliminating the need for players to download anything and save storage space.

Demos are a fantastic way for players to sample a game before making a purchase. However, many gamers hesitate to download demos for larger titles due to their hefty storage requirements—Crimson Desert, for instance, demands 150 GB on PC, as noted on its Steam page. Even though the demo doesn’t provide the full experience, it still requires a significant amount of game assets, contributing to the large download size.

To sidestep this issue, Pearl Abyss has created a webpage where potential players can stream Crimson Desert directly in their browser. By accessing the demo on Twitch, players can enjoy up to 20 minutes of this action-RPG for free.

While 20 minutes might seem brief, players can actually explore a substantial portion of the game during this time since the demo doesn’t start from the very beginning. This means there’s no need to slog through a tutorial sequence. Instead, players spawn in the Hernandian Territory and are free to roam as they wish. Once the time is up, they can simply restart the demo and choose a different path.

As of now, Pearl Abyss hasn’t specified how long this demo will be available. However, if players find themselves enjoying the game in the coming days, they can grab Crimson Desert at a 20% discount on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, and Xbox Games Store until September 9.
