Crimson Desert’s major DLC release pushed back.
Crimson Desert is shaping up to be one of the standout titles of 2026, boasting a vast open world and impressive sales of over six million copies. With such success, it’s no wonder that developer Pearl Abyss is gearing up to expand the game with a new DLC. However, players will need to hold off a little longer before they can jump into this new content.
On Wednesday, Pearl Abyss announced that the upcoming expansion, Charting the Unknown, has been pushed back by two weeks, moving its release from October 15 to October 29.
“We have determined that we need additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience,” the developer stated in a message shared on various platforms. “We know many of you have been looking forward to returning to the game, and we sincerely apologize for the longer wait. We will use the extra time to refine the content and ensure we deliver the best experience possible.”
The development of Crimson Desert’s DLC was first confirmed back in June, with a full reveal taking place in September during a recent showcase. The world of Pywel is already packed with activities, and Charting the Unknown will broaden its horizons to include the open seas. Players can channel their inner adventurer, sailing across the ocean, diving for treasure, exploring ancient ruins, and even riding sharks. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to build homes and engage in romantic pursuits with the inhabitants of Pywel.
“New stories unfold across Pywel — from an ominous presence in the desert and a dangerous political conflict to a journey beyond time and an ancient secret beneath the waves. Follow Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they forge their own paths forward, discover their purpose, and shape their destinies,” the official description reveals.
Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown is set to launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
