In a surprising blunder, a new episode of the popular anime Fate/strange Fake was accidentally released a week early by Crunchyroll.

Episode 7 appeared on YouTube on February 8, ahead of its scheduled February 14 release, and was available for over eight hours before being taken down, as reported.

While the episode lacked English subtitles, it was quickly captured by piracy groups during its brief availability.

Fate/strange Fake is a fantasy anime produced by A-1 Pictures, the same studio behind the hit Solo Leveling. The series revolves around a battle for the Holy Grail, which can grant any wish.

Crunchyroll also made headlines recently with changes to its subscription pricing. Starting March 4, the Fan tier will increase from $7.99 to $9.99, the Mega tier will be $13.99 per month, and the Ultimate tier will cost $17.99 monthly. Additionally, the free, ad-supported streaming tier has been discontinued.

This winter season is shaping up to be fantastic for anime, with Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 currently airing and Frieren season 2 tying with its first season as the highest-rated animated anime of all time.

Excitingly, a new anime based on a manga by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa, titled Daemons of the Shadow Realm, is set to debut soon.
