Cyberpunk TCG Breaks Kickstarter Records with a Month Left to Go
CD Projekt Red and WeirdCo kicked off a Kickstarter campaign for The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game on Tuesday at 12 p.m. EDT, and they obliterated their $100,000 goal in just five minutes.
Within hours, the campaign proudly declared itself the most-funded trading card game in Kickstarter history. As of now, it has amassed over $8.3 million from more than 10,000 backers, with 30 days still on the clock. Almost all stretch goals have been unlocked, and the ambitious $10 million tier could be reached in mere days—or even hours.
“Hey chooms, we did it,” the WeirdCo team announced in an update after the project was fully funded.
As the pledges poured in, the team raced to keep pace with the new stretch goals. “You gonks are crazy. We already broke our $3 million stretch goal!” they exclaimed less than an hour after launch. “You’re smashing through these goals before we can even announce them.” The campaign hit $5 million in under three hours.
“The response has been nothing short of amazing,” said WeirdCo co-founder and president Elliot Cook. “Becoming the largest TCG in crowdfunding history in under 12 hours is a massive signal; our chooms are ready to build something truly special with WeirdCo.” Cook also praised CD Projekt Red as a “dream partner,” highlighting that their representatives were on-site in Seattle to help launch the campaign.
“With overwhelming momentum from fans and local game stores alike, the Cyberpunk TCG isn’t just launching; we are kicking off a game that truly builds human connections,” he added.
Most stretch goals enhance the game’s beta box. Early tiers introduced extra booster packs and a promotional “Legend” card featuring V: Corporate Exile. As funding increased, new variants and expanded card pools featuring characters from Cyberpunk 2077 and Netflix’s animated series were rolled out. At the $4 million mark, all booster packs were upgraded to guarantee two rare-or-higher cards. If—more likely when—the campaign hits $10 million, every beta box will come with an additional Legend pack.
Backers will receive rewards in two waves. The first wave, set for Q3 2026, includes starter decks, beta booster displays, and related add-ons via express shipping. A second wave, arriving in Q4 2026 with standard shipping, will deliver the remaining products.
Originally announced in December 2025, the Cyberpunk TCG transforms the world of Cyberpunk 2077 into a competitive card game focused on building a crew, equipping gear, and completing gigs.
With 30 days left in the campaign, the Cyberpunk TCG is not just breaking records; it’s pushing the limits of how big a Kickstarter trading card game can truly become.
