AI is making waves everywhere. From big-name stars to iconic franchises, the technology is reshaping narratives based on simple prompts from creative minds.

A recent example comes from Seedance 2, which generated a 15-second fight scene featuring AI versions of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt battling on a crumbling highway, showcasing surprisingly intricate choreography.

While many in the industry were left scratching their heads, Deadpool and Wolverine co-writer Rhett Reese had a different take.

“I hate to say it. It’s likely over for us,” Reese tweeted, clarifying in replies that he was serious. He added, “I meant that the way things are is over.”

Reese later expressed concern that AI is becoming a significant issue in his field, suggesting, “I suspect (could be wrong) that many screenwriters are using AI heavily in their writing, and many execs are using it heavily in their analysis of writing. So, hilariously, all the people are sitting back watching as AI critiques what it just created.”

In my view (and I know no one asked), AI isn’t going to take over Hollywood anytime soon. Just look at the backlash against Tilly Norwood, an AI-generated actor. While it may offer shortcuts in production, movies—and, importantly, movie stars—aren’t going to let AI deliver a hollow imitation just to save a few bucks. That’s simply not going to happen.
