When Hideo Kojima drops a cryptic post, fans of Death Stranding are always ready to decipher it. Recently, some are speculating that his vague mentions of “editing” could hint at a PC port for Death Stranding 2 being in the works.
In a casual February 9 tweet, Kojima mentioned, “Didn’t have much time today for editing,” echoing a previous post where he lamented about “Editing for the first time in…8 months?” Notably, the original Death Stranding received its PC port eight months after its PlayStation launch, with the Director’s Cut following about a year later. This timeline is starting to look promising…
Additionally, Sony has confirmed that the anticipated State of Play event will take place on February 12 at 5 PM ET. The timing is certainly intriguing.
Adding fuel to the fire, Kojima’s February 9 post featured a photo of his computer screen showcasing a font that clearly advertises “a Hideo Kojima game.” Beneath his monitor, a themed Death Stranding calendar for 2026 is visible. It seems he might be hinting at something significant.
I’m also looking forward to more updates on OD, Kojima’s Xbox-exclusive horror project in collaboration with acclaimed director Jordan Peele. In December, Kojima cryptically stated, “I can’t say exactly what it is yet, nor do I know if it will work out.” Given that this is his first horror game since the canceled Silent Hills in 2015, I’m eager to see how this unfolds.
The producer of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes emphasizes that the secret behind Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto’s brilliance isn’t just their talent, but also their relentless work ethic.
