Shiny hunting has long been a cherished pursuit among dedicated Pokémon fans, but one particular hunt stands out: the quest for Shiny clothing that resembles Pokémon. Yes, Shiny outfits have puzzled Pokémon Battle Revolution players for nearly two decades, and now it seems that a prominent Shiny hunter known as Noa_Kyogre has achieved the remarkable feat of collecting the entire set.

Released in 2006 as a spin-off for the Wii, Pokémon Battle Revolution allows players to collect costumes, including a unique series of Pokémon-themed outfits earned by defeating specific endgame trainers. If you’re exceptionally lucky—think 1 in 8192 chances, a familiar figure for veteran Shiny hunters—you might encounter a trainer wearing a special Shiny version of the outfit.

Hunting for these Shiny outfits is significantly more tedious than traditional Shiny hunting, with each attempt taking around 10 to 15 minutes, according to one account. When you consider the thousands of attempts required, it becomes clear just how monumental this task is.

However, Noa_Kyogre didn’t just stop at one Shiny outfit. They went above and beyond, collecting all six outfits—twice, in fact, for both the Japanese and worldwide versions of the game.

“I think I’m the first person to do so,” Noa_Kyogre shared in a translated tweet celebrating this achievement. They added, “I’ve probably been doing this for about 5-6 years!”

Doing some quick calculations… If each attempt at snagging a Shiny outfit takes about 10 minutes, and it takes an average of 8196 attempts to find one—both generous estimates—it would require around 1,300 hours to collect each outfit. Multiply that by 12, and you’re looking at a staggering 15,600 hours. That’s just shy of two full calendar years of relentless Shiny hunting.

“I’ll never do it again!!!” Noa_Kyogre exclaimed in another translated post.
