Delay in English Dub for Frieren Season 2 Due to Storm Fern
The English dub of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 has been pushed back due to the impact of Storm Fern, the severe winter storm that recently swept across North America.
“CORRECTION: Due to Winter Storm Fern, the English dub will now debut next Friday, February 6. Episodes 2 and 3 will be released together on February 13,” an announcement stated, marking a slight delay from the original January 30 launch.
Despite this setback, season 2 of Frieren is off to a fantastic start. The premiere episode has propelled the anime to the top of My Anime List’s rankings, surpassing its first season, although it has since settled into a tie with season 1 at a score of 9.28.
The stunning hand-drawn end credits have also received acclaim, adding to the overall appeal of the series.
A significant change for this season is the shift in directorial roles; Keiichiro Saito has stepped back but remains involved as an assistant director. Tomoya Kitagawa has taken over the directing responsibilities.
“When we collaborated on the first season, I recognized that Kitagawa-san had great ideas and techniques,” Saito shared. “I found it challenging to manage everything I needed to, so I asked Kitagawa-san for assistance. He was the only person I could think of to help.”
