Despite everything, Black Ops 7 topped November’s sales charts.

Despite a lackluster review score and several controversies, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 emerged as the top-selling game of November 2025. This information comes from gaming analyst Mat Piscatella, who highlighted that this marks the 18th consecutive year a Call of Duty title has claimed the best-selling spot in its release month.

Following Black Ops 7, Battlefield 6, which was the best-seller in October 2025, secured the second position in November’s sales. Rounding out the top five were three popular sports titles.

Since its launch on November 14, Black Ops 7 has faced a rocky reception. Critics have pointed out that its campaign falls short compared to the acclaimed Black Ops 6 from 2024. While the multiplayer experience remains strong, many fans feel it lacks enough innovation to set it apart from its predecessor. Additionally, the game has sparked heated discussions among players regarding its skill-based matchmaking system.

One of the game’s highlights was its endgame mode, which featured a battle royale-style map infused with roguelike elements. Initially, this mode was locked behind the campaign, which received mixed reviews. However, developer Treyarch quickly changed course, making the mode more accessible shortly after launch. In early December, Treyarch also rolled out the Season 1 update for Black Ops 7, touted as the largest season in the franchise’s history.

In a significant shift, it was announced that there will be no further releases in the Call of Duty subseries like Black Ops or Modern Warfare for the foreseeable future, meaning fans will have to wait at least 23 months before Black Ops 8 can potentially top the sales charts again.
