Diablo 4 Reintroduces Killstreaks Ahead of Season 12, Featuring Unique Bloodied Items to Amplify Chaos—Fans Express Nostalgia for Diablo 3’s Mechanics.

The upcoming Public Test Realm for season 12 of Diablo 4 is just around the corner, and Blizzard has shared some exciting details about what players can expect in the next patch. Leading the charge are Killstreaks, along with new items, sigils, and more.

As the name suggests, Killstreaks empower you the more enemies you take down. Keep the kills flowing, and you’ll unlock specific bonuses. According to the PTR patch notes, there are five tiers to achieve: Killstreak, Carnage, Devastation, Bloodbath, and Massacre.

Reaching a Massacre tier will be particularly rewarding, granting you extra experience and seasonal reputation, not to mention the thrill of dominating your foes.

Next up are Bloodied items, crafted to enhance your combos. These items provide bonuses to your streaks, leading to even greater rewards and momentum. For example, the Rapid Parashu grants six seconds of Berserking for every 25 kills.

These items can be both Ancestral and Bloodied, offering three types of additional rewards: Rampage, which is based on your killstreak tier; Feast, which counts your total kills; and Hunger, which adjusts rewards according to your current tier. Players are already responding positively to these changes.

One enthusiastic player commented, “So glad Killstreaks are finally back! Seriously missed these from Diablo 3 while leveling. It was so satisfying to keep the kill chain going to build the XP combo. It creates a little mini game,” while another echoed similar sentiments.

Bloodied Sigils are also making their debut, transforming the area into a Bloodied Lair when activated. This not only increases the challenge but also summons a Relentless Butcher that relentlessly pursues you and can only be temporarily defeated. Using this sigil guarantees drops of Bloodied items—no risk, no reward. They will be available in Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes, and Lair Bosses, but you’ll need to reach Torment I difficulty to access them.

During the test period, players can also look forward to a selection of items and other minor changes. The PTR for version 2.6.0 will be live for one week starting February 3, with Diablo 4 season 12 officially launching on March 10, followed by the major expansion, Lord of Hatred, on April 28.
