Diablo 4’s Season 15 Launch Delayed Due to Error Code Issues

Today marks the anticipated launch of Season 15 for Diablo 4, but things have taken a turn for the worse. Instead of a smooth rollout, players are facing a barrage of login error codes, derailing what was meant to be a highlight of the franchise’s 30th Anniversary celebration. As a result, the major post-BlizzCon 2026 update has been postponed.

The issues began early on September 15, with players flooding forums to report difficulties logging into Diablo 4. As the day progressed, the situation deteriorated, prompting Blizzard to address the problems when the Season 15 update went live around midday. A community manager acknowledged the situation, stating, “We’re aware of an issue preventing some players from logging in. The team is investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

Many players encountered a “login error 3000008” when attempting to access the game, while others faced error code 3000006. Those downloading the new Switch 2 port of Diablo 4 for the first time humorously noted they were finally experiencing the typical launch day chaos alongside everyone else.

At least one player reported entering Season 15 with all their gold and Paragon Board unlocks from the previous season still intact, despite these resets being expected. “Rebirth bricked the season,” they commented, referencing a new feature that allows players to transfer characters from the standard (or Eternal) realm to the Seasonal realm. Meanwhile, some players seemed to enjoy a smooth start to the new season, but given the widespread issues, Blizzard has decided to delay the season entirely, likely rolling back any progress made by those who started early.

An update later in the day stated, “We’re continuing to address issues affecting today’s launch of Season of Hell’s Legacy. As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issues and we’ll share updates as we have them.”

Season of Hell’s Legacy introduces new story quests featuring the iconic Horadrim Deckard Cain making his debut in Diablo 4, along with the usual array of endgame updates, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life enhancements. Additionally, nine new Legacy Uniques have been permanently added, drawing inspiration from legendary relics of the past, including Messerschmidt’s Reaver, the famed Stone of Jordan, and Henri’s Perquisition.

This was meant to be a triumphant kickoff for Diablo’s 30th anniversary, celebrating the franchise that first launched in January 1997. The Season 15 description teased players with a journey through the rich history of Diablo’s past games, reimagined for Diablo IV, allowing them to relive encounters with legendary heroes and notorious foes while exploring the troubled history of Sanctuary.

For now, that nostalgic journey will have to be put on hold.
