Disney is set to launch Percy Jackson on a rival streaming platform before the third season debuts.
Since its launch in 2023, *Percy Jackson and the Olympians* has been a Disney+ exclusive. However, in a bid to attract new viewers ahead of the highly anticipated third season, Disney is shaking things up. Starting in just a few days, fans will have the opportunity to binge the series on a different streaming platform for a limited time.
According to reports, a new licensing deal will see Disney bringing several titles from its library to Netflix, with *Percy Jackson and the Olympians* leading the charge. The first two seasons, which adapt Riordan’s *The Lightning Thief* and *The Sea of Monsters*, will be available to all Netflix subscribers starting October 4. However, this won’t be a permanent move, as the series is set for a three-month promotional window leading up to the season 3 premiere on November 20.
In addition to *Percy Jackson*, all the *Ice Age* movies will also be available for streaming on the same day, coinciding with the upcoming release of *Ice Age: Boiling Point* in February 2027. Other titles making their way to Netflix from Disney’s catalog include *Will Trent*, *Soul*, *Elio*, *Revenge*, and *Fresh Off the Boat*, among others.
Season 3 will adapt the third book in Riordan’s series, *The Titan’s Curse*. This marks a new chapter for the show, as the first two books were previously adapted by another studio, while this will be the first screen adaptation of the third book under Disney’s banner. The storyline will follow Percy as he embarks on a quest to find Annabeth and the missing goddess Artemis, while also introducing the di Angelo siblings, who play a crucial role in the series.
Returning cast members include Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. They will be joined by newcomers Levi Chrisopulos as Nico di Angelo and Olive Abercrombie as his sister, Bianca. This season will also expand the pantheon of gods, featuring Dafne Keen as Artemis, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, Jennifer Beals as Demeter, and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo. As of now, Disney has not officially confirmed a fourth season for the series.
Series creator Rick Riordan is also set to develop a *Kane Chronicles* TV show.
