Disney Plus Increases Subscription Prices Once More

In a familiar move, Disney is once again increasing the price of its Disney Plus streaming service. The new rates took effect on Wednesday, featuring a $2.50 increase for stand-alone Premium subscriptions to Disney Plus and Hulu. Other subscription options, including ad-supported tiers and bundles that include ESPN, are also seeing price hikes.

This latest round of increases comes exactly one year after the previous adjustments were announced. Disney Plus’ new pricing aligns with similar trends from other streaming platforms like Netflix, Peacock, and Apple TV, as the industry shifts its focus from subscriber growth to profitability.

As of now, Disney Plus costs $12.49 per month for the ad-supported tier and $21.49 per month ($214.99 annually) for the ad-free Premium version. A solid choice for those looking to save is the bundle option with Hulu, which is priced at $21.99 per month—just 50 cents more than a stand-alone subscription.

Here are the current bundle options for Disney Plus, Hulu, ESPN, and HBO Max:

Since its launch in 2019, Disney Plus started with a single tier priced at $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually. Over the years, Disney has gradually increased the service’s price and expanded its offerings, implementing annual hikes for the past four years.

This latest price adjustment coincides with the streaming debut of Toy Story 5 on Disney Plus.

Additionally, ads are now a possibility on the Disney Plus Premium tier.
