Disney Removes 14 Games from Steam, Leaving Fans Curious About the Reason

Disney has quietly removed several games from Steam this week, as noted by a user on a gaming forum and shared by another source. In total, 14 Windows PC titles from Disney are no longer available for purchase on Valve’s digital platform.

These games cover a wide range of years, from 1992’s Stunt Island to Disney Fairies: Tinker Bell’s Adventure from 2014. Many are inspired by Disney films and TV shows, including Disney’s Hercules and Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action, while others come from LucasArts, such as Lucidity, created by the team behind the 2009 remake of The Secret of Monkey Island.

Disney has not publicly addressed the removal of these games from Steam. An inquiry has been made to the company for clarification, and updates will follow if a response is received.

Here’s the complete list of the delisted titles:

While it’s not unusual for games to be removed from storefronts—often due to expired licensing agreements—doing so without any prior notice is unusual. This leaves some players feeling frustrated, especially those who may have purchased the games just before they became unavailable. One user expressed their confusion, asking, “Why would they delist without ever giving us a warning first? They hate money?”

Another user lamented, “I can live without those games, but not telling us that Disney’s Hercules and Disney Winnie the Pooh are being pulled is a nasty move. It will be harder to replay my childhood games in the future…”

Some delisted games do make a comeback on storefronts eventually, but there’s no guarantee, and they may not stay available for long. A notable case is Activision’s 2013 Deadpool game, which was removed, re-added, and then delisted again.

For now, the 14 Disney titles mentioned are gone, but they certainly won’t be forgotten.
