Divinity’s Character Creator Promises Enhanced Customization Beyond Baldur’s Gate 3

Larian has revealed that the upcoming Divinity will feature even more character customization options than Baldur’s Gate 3, which is quite a statement.

The character creator in Baldur’s Gate 3 is so robust that it could stand alone as its own game, allowing players to craft their avatars into the perfect hot Half-Orc or cunning Dwarf they envision. While it may not be the most complex character creator in RPG history, it strikes a balance that makes it accessible and enjoyable. Yet, Larian is set to elevate the experience with Divinity.

During a recent Reddit AMA, Larian’s team discussed character customization, specifically addressing whether it would be “similar” to Baldur’s Gate 3. Art director Alena Dubrovina responded, indicating that they are “planning to have an even better one” with “more colors, more options,” and “more control.”

As someone who enjoys hitting the randomizer button at the start of RPGs, I’m excited about this news. I know my wife and many others will appreciate the expanded options. However, I hope Larian can enhance customization without losing the simplicity and user-friendliness that almost convinced me to create a custom character in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Additionally, hints from the developers suggest that Divinity will include sex scenes, just in case the trailer’s wild party scene didn’t make that clear: “Does a bear… in the woods?”
